Hi all!
Now that plutoman has solved two of the three cross-number puzzles I've posted here (NOHOW's still unsolved) I feel very encouraged to post another one!
This one has a gripping storyline that sets the solver right in the middle of the action of those bygone days of yore - emotions and all!
Will the two lovers escape Callous Count Crewell's clutches?! (note the alliteration).
It's a fun but tricky puzzle along the lines of Little Pigley Farm...but with a few extra twists and turns.
For anyone not familiar with the imperial measuring system:
1 pound = 16 ounces
1 foot = 12 inches
1 yard = 3 feet
1 mile = 1760 yards

Hi!
Having just tried out MathsIsFun's new Cross Number Puzzle game I recalled this crossnumber puzzle that I posted over a year ago and was never solved.
I've also posted it on another forum, where several members solved it and said it was a very enjoyable, fun puzzle...and they wished there were more like it.
So...I thought I'd bump it back up and maybe find some interest in it.

hi phrontister
Tucked this away for a moment when I ran out of puzzles. Good challenge. What thinkest thou to my answer?

Hi Bob,
Me thinkest 'twas nice going!
Just one error: the common digit of the intersecting answers 22A & 19D.
You've got the prince dawdling at rescuing Jenny by taking much longer than he really did, thus displaying a surprising lack of interest in effecting a successful rescue attempt...from a room that I think you rotated 90 degrees from true.
And...did you solve the ultimate question, whether or not the story had a happy ending? Or did Callous Count Crewell catch up with the fugitives before they reached the safety of the Prince's home?!

hi phrontister
Arrhhh. That was just carelessness. I did L + W instead of L + H. So I've changed a 6 to a 3. OK now?
I've got the Prince going 1.5x as fast as the Count so that seems to suggest that Jenny stays rescued.
Hurray for the happy ending!
Methinks this is a lesson for us all. The Count is clearly a portly fellow and has paid the price for this.
Thanks for the puzzle and feedback.

Hi Bob,
6 to 3 = good.

Arha. Is it just that I've got my Count mixed up with my Prince?
ie. Count's speed = Princes' speed x 1.5

Arha. Is it just...
Er...no. There's something else in the storyline that you appear to be overlooking.
ie. Count's speed = Princes' speed x 1.5
That reckoning needs an overhaul.

hi phrontister
If this isn't right I think you are going to have to explain it to me.
