I've seen some posts (can't find them now) about not being able to delete or edit images.
Well, I've found this solution...
For an image you want to edit, make a new file of the final image.
For an image you want to delete, make a new file of a tiny transparent image.
Give these files the exact file names as the ones you want to edit or delete, tick the 'Delete' box and upload the new file/s. I'm not sure if ticking the 'Delete' box is really necessary, but that's what I did and it worked.
And that's it!
The 'deleted' image isn't actually deleted...it's just been replaced with that tiny transparent image. I tried it here with two images that I wanted to delete. Their tiny replacements register as images but only show up as teeny little blips in the 'Uploaded Images' box (in my browser, anyway).
On that same post I also replaced an image with the one that's there now.

Let me try this.
Tell me if you see a white blip on the right.

hi Stefy,
I see no blip. And if I view the first image I cannot go to the second. I don't think it is there at all.

Just going to view source.

So it is deleted after all.
If he is suggesting pressing the Delete check-box,then that is what I did.

I think it is deleted. There's nothing in the html for it.

Oh,yes. The same one where you asked about the background change. Is that the one?
Has MIF come up with a green background yet?

I am sorry we have to do stuff like this. The image functionality is a "plug-in" and I don't know enough about it to alter it.

Hi MIF
I do not see a need for altering.

What file format was your second image, stefy?

I think it was a jpg. I am not sure,I will have to check tomorrow. It was a screenshot of a tesseract spinning,so maybe you can check it yourself.

Your first image is a jpg. If your spinning tesseract was animated it probably was a gif.
I generally use png, and maybe that's the issue here.
I'll test that later...I have to go out now.

No,it wasn't an animation. It is,I think a screenshot of an animation and both can be found in the net. I will tell you more "tomorrow".

Ok...testing gif, jpg & png file formats to see if there's any difference with deletion.
I'll load them in the above order:
EDIT 1: Now I'll delete them...
EDIT 2: That worked!
EDIT 3: Now I'll load the blip that won't delete:
EDIT 4: And there it is! Now I'll delete it...
EDIT 5: And there it still is! It didn't delete! (??) I'll try deleting it again (same way as I deleted the others, by ticking the Delete box)...
Hmmmm...still there!
Hi stefy,
Here are those pics again, including my blip.
Have to go out again...will check in tonight.

Ok...here's a new post with the same four images, just in case. In case of what? I don't know.
I renamed the blip image to "Blip" - for no real reason. But you never know...! (actually, I suspect something).
Edit 1: They all showed up. I'll now delete them by ticking the Delete box...
Edit 2: Hah!! That worked! All gone, even the blip! Maybe MIF's image plug-in doesn't like multiple-word file names...so I'll test for that next. Uploading the same four files again, but with the blip's file name changed to a multiple-word one ("Single blip")...
Edit 3: All 4 loaded - now deleting them...
Edit 4: Aha! My "Single blip" file didn't delete! Maybe that's it, then...the plug-in has a problem with multiple-word files. I won't test it on multiple-syllable files because it might blow up.
So if that's the answer, the two blips in the post that I gave the link to in my first post are there to stay, as they both have multiple-word file names ("Dice rolls" and "Large font").

Uploading both blip files ("Blip" and "Single blip")...
Edit 1: Both files uploaded ok. Now deleting them...
Edit 2: Done. "Blip" is no longer on the radar, but "Single blip is". Trying something else now...
Edit 3: Uploading another "Single blip" file with blip colour the same as MIF's background, hopefully making it invisible (which is what the original 'transparent' blip was supposed to do but didn't).
Edit 4: Good...that worked. Problem is, it only blends in with the background colour you've got the forum set at. Mine is SleekBlue, and other background colours will display the blip (my browser does).
Got another trick up my sleeve that I'll try soon...Ok, I tried it, and it didn't work.

It isn't visible, but tge picture "frame" is. Try deleting them. Then if tge blip still stays do to tge Edit option again and see if it really deleted.

Yes, I knew the frame would stay visible but there's nothing I can do about that because the multiple-word file "Single blip" won't delete. I tried it again just now.
I've changed the colour of the two blips in my first post's link to SleekBlue, so for anyone using that colour style the blips will be invisible in the frame.
I guess the secret is to always use single-word files as it looks like they'll delete properly.

I just remembered I raised this problem before (in 2009) and have hunted down my thread...here.
The images I mentioned there that won't delete are multiple-word, and I also found another one or two multiple-word files elsewhere that won't delete.
I can't find any single-word files with that problem.
Can you, stefy?

Testing two files, one with a ridiculously-long single-word file name (pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovulcanoconiosises.png) and the other a ridiculously-short two-word file name (a b.png). Here goes...

Nothing yet. Let me try some multiple words.
Actually it would seem that I cannot store multiple word files on my phone. Sorry.

You wouldn't have seen anything in my previous post before my second edit to it a few minutes ago, because I only uploaded SleekBlue-coloured blips.
In the first edit I tried deleting both images. 'pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovulcanoconiosises.png' deleted ok, but not 'a b.png'.
In the second edit I replaced the blip of 'a b.png' with a doggy pic (also 'a b.png' file name)...which won't delete (I tried twice).
