Quickies #1 Math

1. bobbym and his neighbor is having a competition on who can type faster with a sharper head
bobbym's speed is : x^3 - 2x
his neighbor's speed: 3x^2
Find the time in seconds, x, where bobbym will overcome(type more) than his neighbor
2. Find the minimum value where x is part of the real numbers

3. The sum of the roots of the equation 2x^2+4x-6 minus the product of the roots are..
4. Calculate the difference in temperature between the water at the top and bottom of a water fall 100 m high. Specific heat capacity of water is 4200 J/kg k.(consider g=9.8).
5.An elevator starts from rest with a constant upward acceleration. It moves 2 m in the first 0.6 s. bobbym is holding a 300 kg package by a vertical string. The tension in the string during acceleration is (Take g = 9.8 m/s2)

Lots of times I have to figure which answer I think the OP wants. I assumed he wanted the point where my speed overtook and passed the speed of the other guy with a sharpened head.
