To what extent is mathematics needed for computer science or software

I read on the internet that there are primitive tribes (the Priaha) that do not have the concept of numbers and it made me think that perhaps various sciences could be done without mathematics.

Few programmers know of concepts taught to first-years reading mathematics such as the group concept and the epsilon-delta definitions of limits, continuity, et caetera so I thought that maybe mathematics could be eliminated even further.

Why do you think eliminating mathematics is a good idea?
