Some clown keeps logging in as a guest posting links to voagra sites. If we aren't making money on it, we shouldn't tolerate it.

Deleted, but what to do? All from different IP addresses.

Oh. That is a shame. Can the makers of Voagra be held accountable? I mean they are in some way related to this nitwit. If (s)he is making money by getting people to these sites, aren't the producers of Voagra also profiting in some way? Maybe I am just too......
Could you post the IP addresses that they came from? A little vigilante justice could be just the ticket.

Nice response time on your part anyway, thanks.

I have removed a few as well - they should eventually give up as their "ads" don't last more than a few hours.
I believe that the internet is gradually coming out of its "Wild West" days (outlaws, brothels, snake-oil merchants) as the law-abiding settlers arrive.

I deleted some too and banned the IP, but didn't realise that they were using different IPs.
Judging by the nature of the posts, full of code and links, it looked like it was some kind of robot, posting links on every forum it could find. If that's the case, all the IPs are likely to be similar, so a slightly wider ban range might work.
Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.

But IPs can be "spoofed". There were repeated attempts by a robot to hack the forum a few weeks ago (unsuccessful, of course!), and every one had a different IP. What fun.

They're coming in every hour or so... it's getting to be a bit tiring.
Another just deleted.

It seems that this robot(?) is only targeting the Guestbook. Perhaps the forum could make this Guestbook inactive, and create another one that isn't known to the robot. I mean it doesn't seem to be affecting other forums here.

That's a point ... I will have to look at the logs to see if I can figure out a way to block them.
A person will give up, but a robot could be hard to deal with.

I have a suggestion:
You can make a list of the voagra links and then Rob to write some code that hides them if they're used.

And i think that robot or hacker gives incorrect IP address and you ban innocent IP-s.

Just deleted another one. It's strange that it seems to be making the topic titles American states.

Maybe we could record the IP, and some simple details.

It's been done more times than this, but these are the only IPs we've got.
Feel free to edit more IPs into this if and when they come.

Yup. This one: 62.96.130.141

Arrggh! Yet another!

OK, thanks, the IP is "random".
Now, the two I have recorded both link to "sti.ipc.ru" and had the username "Voagra" ... could you write down the links (without an actual lnk) AND the username?

I actually meant into my post, but whatever. If they're random, there's no point in keeping tracj of them anymore. I think the username's always been 'Voagra,' and I didn't keep track of the links. I'm sure the stupid robot will come back though.

Okay then.
I didn't keep track of the links either. Username is always Voagra, and subject always an American state.

So can't you don't allow someone to write posts with username "voagra"?

Has it stopped?
I posted a question on the PunBB forum and got some good replies, so I can re-program the forum a little if need be.

If it's robot, I think you'll be able to stop it.
