Word puzzle, yet again

Can you think of a word that contains all the vowels?

Re: Word puzzle, yet again

SUOIDEA (the taxonomic group to which pigs belong) is the shortest word with the five vowels in reverse alphabetical order. Also, PUNCTOSCHMIDTELLA (a crustacean).

I picked those since they're one of the few that have the vowels' appearance in the word backwards, in perfect order. smile

Re: Word puzzle, yet again

I can post loads of words which have all vowels in them. smile

A lot of them are uncommon and aren't used in everyday life, however.

well technically, in Englis Y is both a vowel and a consonant depending on its use.

In the word Yellow, Y is a consonant
In the word Why, Y is a vowel

Re: Word puzzle, yet again

The Icelandic vowels are

A Á E É I Í O Ó U Ú Y Ý Æ Ö

Note that Y is also a vowel, and that the accented vowels are counted as separate letters in the Icelandic alphabet. Ö is also different from O and Ó and go at the end of the alphabet instead of next to them.
