one more thing. I need help with the problems below:
The average of 2 and 4 is 3. what is the average of the reciprocals 2 and 4?
Offline
please help me, i have one of the most important math tests coming up and i really need help with my math. If i don't pass i'm going to be behind a year on math and my parents won't appreciate that.

The Reciprocals of 2 and 4 are 1/2 and 1/4
To average them, you have to add them together and divide by 2
Add them : 1/2 + 1/4 = 2/4 + 1/4 = 3/4
Then divide by 2: (3/4) / 2 = 3/8 DONE
Makes sense, really - what is half way between 1/2 and 1/4? 3/8
We don't have any worksheets on this, but we have other worksheets for you to practice on here

i have a question again.

here is 1 of my math questions:
use a ratio box to solve this problem. In 25 minutes, 400 customers entered the attraction. At this rate, how many customers would enter the attraction in one hour?
please help!!

is any1 there?

look i know ur offline and i'm probally being pushy but when u get online u gotta answer me a.s.a.p. I'm desperate here. I NEED HELP!!!!!!

use a ratio box to solve this problem. In 25 minutes, 400 customers entered the attraction. At this rate, how many customers would enter the attraction in one hour?
25 minutes 400 customers
60 minutes 960 customers
So, 25 is to 60 as 400 is to 960
Or another way of looking at it 25 x 2.4 = 60, so 400 x 2.4 = 960
Or, 25/60 = 400/960
Or ... anything like that
NOW, I am not sure what you have been taught anout "Ratio Boxes" - there can be more than one way to do them, so I hope this matches with what you have been taught.

Answering to the puzzle, technically you could do 11+1+3+3+3=21.

That must be in response to:
hi
i got a nice problem 4 you.
you got 12 numbers which are
1 1 1
3 3 3
5 5 5
7 7 7
how do you add any 6 numbers to make 21???
Remember no subtraction, division or multiplication and using only 6 numers not more not less..!!!!!!
Good one!

I disagree because you cannot use 11.

why can't you use 11? 11 is a number

Any of the six numbers. 11 is not one of them.

i have another problem again.
the question is:
collect the terms. x squared + 6x - 2x -12
i just don't understand it
Offline
Hi again, princess.
Easy peasy ... just neaten it up, so that "terms" such as x, or x-squared are brought together.
So, you have: x-squared + 6x - 2x - 12
There is just one "x-squared" term, so thats fine as it is
There are two "x" terms, so add them together: 6x - 2x = 4x
And there is just one normal number term (called a "constant"), ie, -12.
So the neatened-up expression is:
x-squared + 4x - 12 DONE
