Phone Conversation

This is a phone conversation...

Hello, are you there?
Yes.
What's your name?
Watt's my name.
Yes, what's your name?
I say my name is Watt, you're Jones.
No, I'm Knott.
Will you tell me your name?
My name is William Knott.
Oh, I beg your pardon.
Will you be in tonight if I call around Watt?
Certainly Knott.

Haha... not or Knott ?

Silly.

Re: Phone Conversation

H'okay. I'm going to kill terrorists, lest I feel the need to hunt you down and bite your ankle.

Boy let me tell you what:
I bet you didn't know it, but I'm a fiddle player too.
And if you'd care to take a dare, I'll make a bet with you.

But I'm not Zach, so if I insult you I guess it wouldn't make a difference. If only Zach were here at this moment. big_smile

Re: Phone Conversation

I'm confused. Did Devantè bump this thread to answer a question that no one asked?

Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.

Re: Phone Conversation

No, a moderator or burningleo deleted the bumping post. Or it could've been you and you're trying to fool me.

Re: Phone Conversation

Now I'm confused. Devant\\\e removed his first post so that it looks like burningleo bumped it up!

And, Devant\\\e claims that it wasn't in fact he, but burningleo who was the bumper (bumpee?) in the first place, unless mathsyperson deleted it.

Ooh, the scandal!

--

Wait ... I don't think it was mathsy though, because when I viewed this thread first (before mathsy had posted), burningleo's post wasn't there! yikes

Anyway, moving on ...

Re: Phone Conversation

Back to the original topic ... that phone conversation has potential. I am not sure how, but it could be made much longer and more complicated. Someone called "Hu" maybe?

Re: Phone Conversation

A Mr Wong paired with a Mr Wright (or even White) could also do the trick.

'I'm White, you're Wong!'
'No I'm White, you're Wong!'

Re: Phone Conversation

They used to do that almost all the time on the show “Shooting Stars”. Vic Reeves or Bob Mortimer would ask a question like “What is the SI unit of electrical power?” …

Vic/Bob: What is the SI unit of electrical power?
Contestant: Watt. (Actually Ulrika Jonsson got it wrong and said “ampere” – but she should have said “watt”.)
Vic/Bob: Yes, what?
Contestant: Watt!
Vic/Bob: What do you mean what? I’m asking you, what is the SI unit of electrical power?
Contestant: And I just said “watt”!
Vic/Bob: Look, who’s asking the question, me or you?

I’m struggling to recall the others – I think (very vaguely) there was a Vietnamese name that was pronounced “who”, as well as a Polish name that was pronounced “which”.

Shooting Stars... is that show still airing? It seems good.

Re: Phone Conversation

I don’t know if it’s still showing – it was ages since I last saw it. But then I’m watching TV less and less these days. neutral

Me to. I never watch TV unless it's about global warming, the Solar System, news about space on ABC or any good films. I watched the whole of the 24 Hour Star Wars Marathon on Foxtel a few days ago.

justlookingforthemoment: HAHAHAHA! LOL THAT WAS A REALLY FUNNY JOKE! roflol
