The vowel positions help a lot, I wouldn't be surprised if this one is guessed very quickly.

The vowel positions narrow the possibilities down quite a lot. In the games we've played so far, I'd struggle to find a word that fits the clues but wasn't the answer.
This time it was the cold clue that gave it to me though.
