I actually found some of them quite sexist .

Well, I disagree that all are sexist by nature, but I found some particularly sexist, for instance the one that implies feminists are lesbians. But ok.

Hi Ubergeek and Soroban;
Each one looks like they might be quotes by someone famous. Sometimes famous people say weird stuff. Take Hitler for example, but he is still quoted. I think they are OK, even though they are chauvinistic.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.

Hi Bobbym.
Sadly indeed, gender prejudice is not as nearly considered offensive as, say, any other. But don't get me wrong, I don't want to start a fight with anyone.

Hi Ubergeek;
True, I didn't say I agreed or disagreed. Sometimes unpleasant statements though mean, are true. Whether any of those statements are true is a matter of opinion. I suppose some people who have been married would say they are true. Some would not.

Don't you mean a matter of situation or something like that? Because opinion doesn't qualify as true or false, how much the argument agrees with logic and tested fact does.
At least that's what I think . How fail my attempts at discussing are.
Nevertheless, I can't say I'm all that bothered by the sexism, it's only in a few jokes (the others I found quite funny), and however I feel doesn't change that soroban posts enough jokes and entertains enough people for me not to nag him with my personnal futilities.

Hi Ubergeek;
You can't get truth with opinions. It's their opinion that some of those statements are true. I am not married so I don't know. But I don't know any married guys (relatives or friends) who are happy with being married. I'm sure their wives are saying the same things. People can't pick the right job, the right clothes to wear, the right place to live, the right things to eat, the right people to govern them so is it hard to believe that they picked the wrong spouse?

That's exactly what I said. "Because opinion doesn't qualify as true or false, how much the argument agrees with logic and tested fact does."

Wow. They must have been married a long time now, huh?
So is it hard to believe that they picked the wrong spouse?
Not really but I don't think I realise where we stated anything like that?

The older relatives come from a time when you didn't get divorced. So they stuck it out. The friends are younger and they are all divorced.

That one looks like two incompatible people.
