Re: Wink Murder 2

The murderer winks at me and I suddenly fall down a pit, break my leg, get bitten by the rare vindscreen viper, spontaneously ignite, get put out, catch fire again, get pecked by numerous chickens and finally get crushed by a falling shipment of encyclopedias. Oh, buckets.

Wellll... doesn't 1=1? but how do we PROVE it?

You have shaken the foundations of Mathematics.
If someone asxked me to do it,
I'd simply say take cube roots on both sides.
If the cube roots are equal, the numbers are equal big_smile

Re: Wink Murder 2

But if you take the cube roots of both sides, we still have 1=1. It gets us nowhere! The number 1 resists the cube root method! It is evil numberified! WAH!

Re: Wink Murder 2

Robert Recorde, who gave the world the '=' symbol, would be fuming!
What more do I do?
Multiply both sides by n (n ≠ 0,1), we get n=n !
n IS EQUAL TO n. How do I prove that?
Taking Log on both sides wouldn't help, because we would than get 0=0, which gives us absurd results.
When both the sides are raised to the power n, we still get 1=1 !
When both sides are divided by n, we bget 1/n = 1/n which is the same as n=n !
How about some practical methods? Draw a straight line of 1 m. Draw another of 1 m. Both of them would be exactly equal. Or, 1 hour is the same everywhere on the planet!
I give up cool

Re: Wink Murder 2

I think Rora because the murderer is going through the alphabet, starting at the middle.
(Just to clarify, that's who I think will die next, not who I think the murderer is.)

Re: Wink Murder 2

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. Now that you said that (unless Rora has already been e-mailed) the killer will either choose someone else, thus disproving your theory. However, the killer might kill Rora, grusomely, horribly, and loads of other words that are hard to spell when it's hot, thus proving your theory.

Or the killer might not even read this post and kill you, again. (I know you've already died, but oh well)

Re: Wink Murder 2

A stranger offered me a bottle of coke. Coke has always been my favorite. How could I resist? Without any suspicion, I drank the entire 300 ml. Later, I started feeling dizzy and I realized I was poisoned. But it was too late. My legs were too weak to carry me and I fell dead.

I guess Justlooking. Don't know why. I have a feeling. My instincts are telling me it#s him

Re: Wink Murder 2

When you say "it#s him" you should say "it's her".

[This would be a good place to point out that at the time of justlooking's comment, my signature was
"I think justlookingforthemoment should get a signature."]

Re: Wink Murder 2

HEY!!!!

If someone guesses you, you have to say whether you are or not. With no cryptic clues or suggestions.

Anyway, if it was you and you told me, you couldn't kill me as the game would be over. If you weren't the murderer and you killed me, this game would become very complicated, as it would have several murderers.

Ok. This is confusing. JUST TELL US!!!!

I would tell you, but dead people can normally only say one sentence at a time, and even that takes... great... eff...urk.

Re: Wink Murder 2

I think we should wait a while to give new people a chance to join up or playing people a chance to leave. At the moment the list is (I think) MathsIsFun, justlookingforthemoment, Zach, me, insomnia and ganesh. As we don't know yet if Rora's gone permanently or not, I've taken her off for now.

Re: Wink Murder 2

I'm not gone permanently, NO WAY would I do that! But I think the best thing to do would be to take me off unless I ask to play again. I may find some un-busy days occasionly.
