If the phonebook has 10,000 entries, on average you'll need to look through about half of them—5,000 entries—before you get lucky.

Umm, who looks through a phonebook sequentially?  Worst case you would need to look at 14 entries.  So it looks like he is talking about an unsorted phone book.

The juicy physics stuff on page 4 to 6 is amazing to try to read.
The 85% reading they get over and over that should be 75%
on the electrons.  Then they move over to photons later.
Maybe we should tell ilovephysics about this article.
