were can I go to learn my Times Tables?
There is a Times Table Test which you can do online, and there are also Multiplication Worksheets which you can print out and practice on.
Print a few worksheets, and also print each one's answer sheet (put these aside to check your work later on), and then practice every day.
One thing to make it easier is to look at the Times Table Chart and find patterns: for example the last digit of the 5-times table always goes 5,0,5,0, and the last digit of 9-times goes 9,8,7,6, ... (AND if you add the digits of each 9-times, you get 9. What I mean is that 9x5=45 and 4+5=9, or 9x9=81 and 8+1=9. But what about 9x11=99?)

9+9 gets 18. 1+8 is 9, once again! So you just keep adding until you get a single digit number (which is nine).

Eleven times tables are easy!
For double numbers, take the two numbers, add them together and put them in the answer in the middle.

That might work ... hmmm ... I wonder if the teachers know about calculators when running the tests ?

People hiding them? They would have a very hard job doing so.

Indeed !
So, that calculator idea has bitten the dust. Darn
So nothing for it but practice practice .

I broke my calculator.
Not so much as 'broke' but, tore it apart after getting annoyed with it for not telling me the answer I was looking for... Or was it because I was just bored in science. Most probably both. Anyway, I started bending it and the side opened, so I started opening it and exploring the hidden depths of a calculator. It wasn't too interesting and not easy to put back together. I think I lost a piece.

I did that before with a little pocket one. I wanted to change the battery but I couldn't get the screws out so I tried to get them out another way....and smashed it.

My son also had difficulties with the times tables. I found a very nice site which offers a calculation software that helped him.
The site url is http://www.dol88.com
The result was outstanding because he always wanted to reach higher scores.
The software approach is very original like a tetris game.
Moreover a specific module of the software is able to show the calculations techniques in a step by step way that is very efficient for learning.
The user manual is available on line.
Go, try and enjoy !
