Hi there!
My name is Liz and I have just joined this site. I am new so I am still learning where everything is so if anyone knows anything really good on this site that is a must see please let me know.
I am 24 years old, about to have my first child, and I am also about to finish my University degree as a Primary School Teacher.
I own my own business, which is very fun (it isnt a traditional business, I dont have a shopfront, or staff, or stock).....and I sell Jewellery also. Whilst it may seem to you that I am very busy, I love what I do and wouldn't trade it for anything!
It is nice to meet you all and I hope some of you drop me a line to say Hi!
Take Care,
Liz.

Yes, a big welcome to the forum, Liz!
Oh, and have a look at my new animated platonic solids (look for the "Spin a ..." links). I could watch them spin for hours ... well, minutes.

Hi everyone, and thank you for the goodluck wishes for the baby! We do not know what we are having yet, and we aren't going to find out, as long as it is a healthy baby, we really don't mind whether it is a girl or a boy!
Thank you for hints on good things to check out, I am sure I will check it all out during my spare time! :-)
Thank you all for being so welcoming!
Liz.

Hey, as long as you don't mind losing your sanity (I think I left mine in the guestbook, it keeps on running away!) you're very welcome!!
Isn't it a bit hard to decorate, buy clothes, etc. if you don't know if it's a boy or girl, or are you going for all unisex items?

I knew a lady who was convinced she was going to have a girl - she bought girls clothes, dolls, etc, even painted the whole room pink. Her little boy has to live in a pink room now.

My sisters tell me I'm having a boy, because when they were pregnant with their boys they were not sick, I have not been sick, but I am not listening to them and getting any hopes up....
I am just going for unisex items at the moment, I am sure there will be plenty of things I can buy after the baby is born that will be more suited to their gender.
I dont think I have any sanity as it is... a full time uni degree, a part time job, and 2 dogs, 2 birds and 2 fish, I have little time for myself, so I think my mind and sanity ran away a long time ago!

Welcome to the forum, lizdarryl, and good luck for the future...
Would 'primary school teacher' be kindergarten, or more Grade 3-6?

Or Year 1-6 (English Grades)

Wait... I haven't posted something coldly evil on this thread yet?
Er... Insomnia eats brains.
Boy let me tell you what:
I bet you didn't know it, but I'm a fiddle player too.
And if you'd care to take a dare, I'll make a bet with you.

I am in Australia here.....I didnt even think that grades etc are all called different things in different places.....

There are people from about a dozen countries here! Doesn't matter, we all seem to get by. Isn't the internet a marvellous place?
But what years do you want to teach the most ?

In England we have
Nursery School: 0-4 (or 5)
Reception (Kindargarten): 5-6
Primary School (Year 1-6): 6-11
Secondary School (Year 7-11): 11-16

Sorry if I asked the wrong thing - I meant, what will you teach? I am from Australia too.

The Portuguese system sounds interesting. Helps to give Years 10,11 and 12 their special significance.

Wow, sorry about that justlookingforthemoment.....I would really like to teach either year 3 or Kinder.....I have done pracs with these classes and well kinder are just so adorable, and year 3 are past the smart alec stage but not complete angels but at the same time get down and do work if there is a proper system in place with structure and rules etc....
I really dont mind what years I teach as long as I have a beautiful class who I know will be trying at times no matter how old they are, but as long as I can teach them things and instill important values in their lives then I will be happy!
