Geometric Translation
Just finished a little page on "translation" (not words but shapes!) here: Geometric Translation

Yep. I haven't decided on whether to do Rotation or Reflection next. Whichever is easier

A few questions remain, however. Like, how do you translate a square from english to spanish? You move it, of course! s->c q->u u->a a->d r->r e->o. Repitan juntos conmigo. Cuadro!

And now I have done Rotation. I couldn't think of much to say, so I made two animations.
I stuck with the theme of moving individual points. Could it be confusing?

Now I need to make a page that brings the three ideas together under the heading "Congruent", then make another page on "resize" (or "dilation" or whatever), then ... oh gee, maths is a big subject!

Is the wiki meant to be about teaching concepts of maths...because I was wondering if all of your explanatory pages should go/be linked to in the wiki? Eg. if in the wiki we created a page called 'congruent', and had links to those pages you have created. Or is the wiki for something else?

Thanks for mentioning the Wiki.
I guess the Wiki will become what people make it become.
I put it there as a "Community Resource". It is like a big powerful thing that sits quietly in the corner because no-one can think what to do with it
Now, it doesn't make sense to duplicate the Wikipedia which has LOTS of entries about maths, but it's explanations are mostly deep and dry.
But apart from saying "Don't duplicate the Wikipedia" I don't really want to steer MathWiki, I want members to contribute just what they want to.
