Hi anonimnystefy;

Probably programs out there to do that and it is possible to write your own but I just do it by hand.

Re: Add 13 more and post it forever.

hi anonimnystefy

how do you find the equation for all the numbers?

It's

<number> =  13 x <post number>

N = 13P

15119 = 1163 x 13

smile  Sorry, but you did ask.

Re: Add 13 more and post it forever.

hi bob

not exactly what i meant.i asked how do they rearrange the digits of the numbers to get thirteen.
for example in post #1161:
9+5-(3^0×1) and those numbers are digits of 1161×13

Hi anonimnystefy;

You will just have to play with it a little. It is good practice. If you go back a piece you will see phrontister a master really pouring it on.

Re: Add 13 more and post it forever.

hi anonimnystefy

not exactly what i meant

I did realise that after I'd read through what I'd posted.

I cannot see that there will ever be a program that guarantees a nice equation every time.

Back in the days of the Acorn PC600 I had a program that did 'Countdowns'  ..... that's a UK daytime TV programme that sets arithmetic like

"Use the numbers 1,  4,  9,  3,  5,  25  to make the target number of, say, 322 (chosen at random).  In Countdown you can only add, subtract, multiply and divide; but you can store values to use later ie. brackets are ok.

I think the computer program just number crunched it's way through all the possibilities, storing the closest value to the target.

Sometimes it didn't get the exact value just one that was a few away.

Sadly, the PC600 has gone to silicon heaven, now.   sad

Oh yes, and just to preserve my formula
