"Hit the hay" means "go to sleep".

Re: What is the meaning of "!@#$%^&*tht]"?

I am too worked up over the gator to sleep or hit hay. The thought of that beast being just yards away is exhilarating. This time there will be no biased refereeing, no home fans. Just pure skill and lust for victory.

What is the meaning of the overbar in your new problem?
