Yeah, should be like a sequel of die hard.
Should be mind blowing like a virus with user interface, like a bomb exploding with a key combination!!

That might work, a bomb counting down and stopping on 007. Of course they need a female lead. Maybe someone with a really bad reputation like Lindsay Lohan.

Yes!

I'm now trying out the trigonometry problem posted in the other thread. No luck till now!

Re: What do you think?

New Problem:

sats.gif

Three satelittes are orbiting the earth forming an equilateral triangle. The three sides of that triangle form 3 tangents to the earths surface.

A) Assuming the earth's diameter is 7918 miles, what is the area of that triangle?

B) How far is satellite B from earth?

Re: What do you think?

Hi gAr;

Bad storm has cut off my connection. It may go out again. I will work on your answer here now.

Hi bobbym,

Oh, that's bad.
When did the storm occur? Did it affect your area?

Hi bobbym,

Okay.

Yes, the answer for B is half of that.
I calculated the distance from north pole!

Hi gAr;

No problem! Very good work as always. Have you seen the newest Geogebra! I used it to check the answers.

Hi bobbym,

Did not check the latest geogebra, downloading it now.
Anything new and useful addition?

Re: What do you think?

Hi gAr;

Looks like a couple of new features over that last one I looked at.
Also the probability distributions are working better now.

Hi,

Yes, it's looking good.

hi guys

just want to ask what the use of the generating functions are?

Re: What do you think?

They solve counting problems, they sum series, they get means and variances.
The tell you whether a sequence is unimodal or not and they get asymptotic forms.

In short the GF is the boss of a sequence!

Re: What do you think?

New problem!

Difficulty unknown:

A highly mathematical ant starts at the origin. he travels
the √1 inches due north. Then he travels √2 inches east. Then
√3 inches south, followed by √4 inches west. He repeats the
pattern of north, east, south, west over and over. He uses this
sequence for each move √1,√2,√3,√4,√5,√6, ...

How far is he from the origin after his 100th move? Can you give an
exact answer?

A says) 100 √2 inches.
B says) I am not done yet.
C says) Right again A.
D says) Yep!
E says) Nope!
A says) Hahaha, what a slowpoke you are B. You need a faster computer, hahhaha.
