Everyone finds somethings less exciting or maybe even boring.
That is a necessity! Learn Mathematica! While you are a student you will be able to get it for nothing or for a ridiculously small price. With it you will learn to work problems in a new way.
Mathematica is not confusing. Ask someone! I have a computer math thread. If it is about a CAS then ask in there. Mathematica is not the only one, there is Sage, Maple, Maxima, Pari, etc.
Learn geogebra! An incredible tool. Follow the tutorials in Computer math.

Math curriculums teach you to work from the question to the solution. I always work from the solution to the question. This is confusing to grad students on up. It is not confusing to engineers who have coined the term "back engineer." You have the finished product or the answer, you have the question. How do flesh out what is in the middle?
