Hello all!
Obviously, I am new to this forum...I am interested in hearing any great ideas for teaching mathematics to secondary school students. Also, I myself am interested in real analysis, abstract geometry, and logic...also love riddles, puzzles, and terrible jokes...
Q: What did the zero say to the eight?
A: Nice Belt!

Hey darthradius... nice name! And nice joke too! Welcome to the forum.
Puzzles and jokes are good! I also like conundrums and rebuses.

It sounds like there were a lot of people from the UK...

novice, member, full member, moderator, administrator
How is it that I became a member? How did I get past novice? Why am I not a full member?

insomnia: OK then, I won't forgot it.
darthradius: With the exception of admin and mod, your 'rank' depends solely on your post count. You become a member at 5, full member at 30, power member at 250 and super member at 1000, if I remember.

MathsIsFun is the only admin the forum will ever have (unless he leaves it to someone in his will or something) because he founded it. Mods are people who the admin trusts enough to give powers to that will help him keep the forum a nice, fun place.

Wanna be math wiz: Like mathsy already said, I'm from Australia. Yesterday was the first day of... summer! It was really hot. Except today it's raining.

Is it snowing there? I like snow. I've seen it real snow only twice, in two separate years, in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Maybe we can create a pipeline through this forum - channel cold air to those suffering in the heat, and pull the warm air from Australia and India to the cold-afflicted.
At least in our minds.
Remember, guys and gals, you can post pictures ... how about some sunny beaches and snow-blown streets ... ?

Hang on. Between 20 and 25 degrees Centigrade is very cold? Buh?
We had a blizzard about a week ago, but it was mainly wind with not much snow, so it didn't leave any snow afterwards.

Mathsy, if you didn't know this earlier, Chennai is between the Equator and the Tropic of Cancer, and the people here are far more comfortable with Summer than winter! Many have respiratory syndromes and the winter is not too conducive. Again, if you didn't know that before, Chennai is one of the hottest cities in the world! A bonus is the fact that it is one of the cheapest metropoloitans with population of 5 million plus in the world!
