The number before the decimal is not 0. .99999999... is just another way of writing 1.

That is not really true. Again, it is a 1.

It can be either 0 or 1, based on the way it is written.

That 0 has no real significance. Would you write 00023 for 23?

The Base Number Can Only be 0 for Infinite/Recurring 0.999... Because if the Base Number was 1 ? it would No longer be Continuous!!

Hi;
What means continuous?

But, how does continuity apply here?

Hi;
I know that.
.99999.... is not a function. It is a number. Continuous refers to functions.

Hmmmm. That post is pretty endless. But .99999999... still equals 1

1-0.999... = (0.9... = 0.1...) Further on...(0.99... = 0.01...) Further on...(0.999...= 0.001...) Conclusion there will Always be a Difference!!

But that difference is 0.

It is already there. That is what the notation implies.
Please keep on topic. This is a thread on lists of digits of pi, not on .99999999....

How Can it Already be there?? if there is a Endless Difference of 0.1 From the Start Onwards!
Notation may Imply it! But that Contradicts that Notation Implies No End to the Universe!
Pi Never Get's there & Neither does Infinite/Recurring 0.9

That is your opinion of course. It is not backed up by mathematicians or by any solid evidence.

This thread is about pi. Can you restrict the posts to that?
I do not wish that every thread becomes yet another argument about .999999...

Hi GeniusIsBack;
No known pattern in pi. That does not prove there is not one. Unfortunately, people do follow patterns.

I hope you understand me.
