I don't think that's true. Bob is one of the most enthusiastic enthusiasts I know when it comes to math.

I would definitely call a retired teacher still doing math interested in math.

Your post doesn't contain the concept "variable". All conditions are written for "const". It has no relation to this subject because in Calculus mathematical operations over "variable" and "const" aren't identical.
