Re: The biggest number?

Sorry, the LaTeX didn't show,so I didn't see your response earlier. It is quite a large number comparing to 1. It is I think around (((3!)!)!)! times greater than 1.

Re: The biggest number?

The biggest number is outside of our awareness.  I would say it's the "awareness barrier" itself, or at least in the middle of it (if it could be measured).

Re: The biggest number?

Hi circlemaker

The point of this thread is not finding the biggest numbere there is, which you may know, doesn't exist.

Have you heard of transfinite numbers or mathematics?

Re: The biggest number?

Of course. But we cannot calculate those numbers in a billion of year let alone half a year or a year.

Re: The biggest number?

I do not want to spoil your thread with cross talk but they can be computed. See the lecture by Doron Zeilberger. There is a largest number!

So let's see if we can post a bigger one;             XXXX

Re: The biggest number?

Hi!

Of course 1 is a number.  Aren't most people looking out for #1?  That's the most mathematics
that many people want to get involved with.  But then again maybe they just haven't found it yet
so they don't think it exists!

  dunno

Hi noelevans

There are bigger numbers than that in here.

Re: The biggest number?

(3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)^(3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
where 3!! means (3!)!, 3!!! means ((3!)!)! etc.
Note that (2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)^(2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) = 4 so
there is a bit of a leap from using 2 to using 3 in these expressions.

That is not large enough.

And what is that Gramham number?
