Who Lives in the City

I think I have an alternative solution to the one posted to your Einstein puzzle "Who lives in the city"
Should there not be only one viable solution ?

Welcome to the Forum.

That puzzle has generated lots of debate.

The thread you have found was started in 2007.  And PuzzleBuster was right; it should have had only one solution and it had more.

The puzzle was re-worded and the solution you posted works for that revision.  Well done for finding it.

But then another solution was found to that version, so a further revision was made to establish a unique solution.

The current version should be that one, (I hope )

LATER EDIT:  Just checked.  Oh dear it isn't.

Here's the clues for a unique version (until you tell me otherwise)

1. The person in the middle watches Desperate Housewives
2. Bob is 46
3. The person who watches the Simpsons is next to the person who lives in a youth hostel
4. The person going to Africa is behind Rachael
5. The person who lives in a village is 52
6. The person who is going to Australia has straight hair
7. The person travelling to Africa watches Desperate Housewives
8. The 14-year-old is at the end of the queue
9. Amy watches Eastenders
10. Eilish doesn't live on a farm
11. The person heading to Italy has long hair
12. Keeley lives in a village
13. The 46-year-old is bald
14. The fourth in the queue is going to England
15. The people who watch Desperate Housewives & Neighbours are standing next to each other
16. The person who watches Coronation Street stands next to the person with an afro
17. The 21-year-old lives in a youth hostel
18. The person who watches Corrie has curly hair
19. The 81-year-old isn't going to England
20. The person who is travelling to France lives in a town
21. A person next to Rachael has an afro
22. The person who watches Neighbours has long hair

Hi Bob,

Yes, that version you posted is the latest revision (see here), but it hasn't yet reached the Einstein Puzzles page of Math Is Fun.

It is the one that you, pRo9aMeR and I recently agreed has a unique solution, and was done after pRo9aMeR found that the current version has more than one solution.

We think that our revised version does indeed have only one solution, but it would be nice if others could confirm that too.

Speaking of which, what does Vegemite taste like?

Vegemite: "dynamite made from veggies".

Vegemite is a sandwich spread made from tractor grease that tastes so foul, only Australians are tough enough to eat it.
Heard out bush:
"Pass the Vegemite, Bazza...I ran out of grease for my tractor."

It's got a strong, salty taste that is quite tangy. Usually used as a thin spread on bread or crackers, and is very, very, yummy. My favourite spread! But I like it thick.

Strangely, most Aussies can't handle 'dubbel zout', the Dutch double salted licorice! I love it!

Not all that much difference, really; but you'd get an argument on that score from some.

Promite is in that group too, and has a similar taste that's very nice. It's a favourite spread for many Aussies. I like it a lot, but prefer Vegemite.
