Hello :)

Hiya!

Well i just joined this site to help me with some Maths, Im 28 with no qualifications and decided i want to be a youth worker, I went to see a careers advisor at my local college and she helped me loads. We looked at which degree I would need after completeing college and i would need a GCSE c or above in math and english, I have no GCSEs so have enrolled in college to complete that first before i can do Humanties and social science for a year leading to Community and Youth work at univerisity for three years.

Im hoping that this sit can help me along the way. I am totally rubbish at maths my 9 year old sone is better than me and if i dont get at least a level two in my pre tests before i can do my GSCE course i wont even be able to do the course i will have to do a brush up course first so i hope that i can brush up with this site that the careers advisor have gave me to help me smile

thank you

hope to meet some new friends while im learning!

well best get off and start learning my times tables smile

Hi Lahbennett84l;

Welcome to the forum.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
Always satisfy the Prime Directive of getting the right answer above all else.

Re: Hello :)

Some parts of math are fantastic, like fractals, but in my opinion also Euclidian geometry is awesome. To address these arguments we must learn some boring and important rules. Aniway, in this forum there are a lot of people ready to help.

Re: Hello :)

hi Lynne,

Welcome to the forum.

Some people join the forum without discovering the main site

http://www.mathsisfun.com/

There are loads of really good teaching materials there, including some interactive things for you to try.

And many members of the forum will help when you get stuck on a topic.

GCSE is my speciality.  I'm old enough to remember when they invented the exam.  eek

So just ask.  smile

Bob
