Make 1,234 using the numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4 only

Can you do that? You can use any number up to two times only, and you have to use all the numbers. Okay? Any operations allowed, especially factorials, exponents, etc.

Re: Make 1,234 using the numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4 only

Hi;

If we can use any operation then the answer is 1234, concantenation used on 1,2,3,4.

Without that operation, I am not finding any yet. Maybe there are none.

I didn't get the answer, I made it up myself.

Then we will go with the concat solution.

Thanks for that! But there might be another solution.

Uses all numbers exactly twice.

Hmmm. Now to try to do it using them once only.  smile

It took several edits before my posted version looked like my paper version.  Final offering has a smiley face. smile

hi julianthemath

Where did you get the avatar?

I made it myself.

Made the still picture in Sketchpad, did a screen shot into Paint, then imported it to Flash and animated it as a GIF.

Hardest bit was getting it the right size (80 by 80) .
