Re: Ixquick

I disagree with it. One day we will discuss why...

I can't be sure whether Gandhi would like my Cyber Weapons

He would not, neither would Buddha and Christ.

Does he have a non-violent version of it?

Re: Ixquick

I mean how do I get back my privacy and obey Gandhi, Buddha and Christ at the same time?

Re: Ixquick

Hmmmm, people asked the great master that question 2000 years ago. Christ said,"Give unto Caesar that which is Caesar's and give unto God that which is God's."

Clearly showing the separation between the world of materialism and the other plane of existence. Also, showing his knowledge of traditional Hinduism, which states that this world is an illusion.

Re: Ixquick

this world is an illusion

Sounds like some quantam physics. I have a friend (at school) who keeps reminding me of this idea and stuff everyday.

Give unto Caesar that which is Caesar's and give unto God that which is God's.

I do not get a word of that

Re: Ixquick

The Hindu belief knew that thousands of years before those physicists were born. So did a few others.

It might be translated like this:

Follow the law of the land knowing that it is only temporary. It is unwise to antagonize a giant, it is better to avoid confrontation with him. Many people have been and will be forced to "live in the cracks" in the coming world. Your conduct because it incurs karma is way more important than your privacy.

Re: Ixquick

Yes, I think that is good conduct because the amount of sin of violence is comparatively less to the amount of virtue produced by making so many people happy.
Our country was once under the British rule, and there were a lot of freedom fighters who took the path of violence. Because the Britishers rule us no more, they are highly esteemed. No one thinks of the amount of bloodshed and misery they caused.

Near wrote:

If we catch Kira, he is evil. If he rules the world, he is justice.

Lord Voldemort wrote:

There is no good and evil, there is only power and those too weak to seek it.

On a complete side note, I do not believe in violence. I have some faith in cyber weapons though.

Re: Ixquick

Near is correct but the other guy... I would not want him too close to me.

I rather put my faith in cyber knowledge. The spreading of ideas between people who would have never met like on this forum. Man is an ignorant creature, he needs a lot of work but the old Chinese say

The oxen is slow but the earth is patient.

Re: Ixquick

How does Near's and Voldemort's Words make any difference?

Re: Ixquick

Near's words are backed up by human history. The winner writes the history to suit himself. He destroys the actual facts.

V's comment is typical of one I am hearing more and more. It is a materialistic view of the world. Power is an illusion and those who seek it are mad. They are also trapped in the wheel for as long as they do.

What do all men with power want? More power!

Is it clear now why they are mad?

He asserts that those who do not seek power are weak.

The Buddhists say:

The wisest man walks with his head bowed. Humble like the dust.

Matthew wrote:

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

Re: Ixquick

How can they want more power? Since, the universe is finite, there must be a point of ultimate power.

There sure is, see where it leads.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

But they should use it to criticise it........!!

Nevertheless, they are not wrong.

Re: Ixquick

I disagree, you do not have to try poison to see if it is bad. An informed opinion is a lot safer.

I agree it is a form of escapism for some but not for others.

Re: Ixquick

To most people a bag of marbles will be their undoing! I think overall it has done me some good. But as the great Bobby Fischer used to say, "to get squares you have to give squares."
