Great to find this forum! My interests are in math and numeracy education. I am currently writing a book on an ethnography of math practices. Sounds fancy but it is just approaching how people do math from different perspectives.
So greetings fellow math lovers. If I sometimes use maths that is because I am from New Zealand.
All the very best to you all!

hi kurtstein
Welcome to the forum!
Thanks for explaining 'ethnography'.
Look closely, and you'll find both math and maths occur.
And our beloved administrator, and originator of the site, calls himself MathsIsFun. So don't worry about using maths. As I'm English I claim superiority in all matters of spelling. 'color' indeed, huh!

hi Stefy,
I was referring to the bcc above where I made red for the welcome.
What or who is BE ? If you mean British Empire then yes, that's right, but nowadays we English like to keep quiet about the Empire and the Colonies as it's a bit of an embarrassment really. Except for the Last Night of the Proms when all inhibitions are lost.
And then our cousins across 'The Pond' keep getting it wrong. But we've kinda forgiven them as we have a 'Special Relationship', whatever that is.

Hi kurtstein;
Welcome to the forum.
In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
Always satisfy the Prime Directive of getting the right answer above all else.
