(sigh) Once again I must be the over analytical party pooper.

It is quite fortunate that the names of all the digits do not ryhme with eachother, but x = x and two ryhmes with two.

Almost all of these ryhmes are only ryhming the second factor. And thus a child could mix it up the first factor. The only way he'd know how to select the correct poem, is the one that ends with the correct product, and if he already knows that, we're wasting our time.

For instance: Five times six, pick up sticks, dig and delve, twelve. How would a kid know thats wrong?

Hmmm ... maybe we can just "power 'em in" and then re-work them as we get inspirations?

Long ago, I also played alto and tenor sax.
I just started trying the trombone a little.
And I fiddle around on the violin, no pun intended, very rudimentary.
I can make up a few easy tunes on a flute I have too.

wow! You must be quite good! I enjoyed it but my father was trying to turn me into some sort of musical genius and kind of pushed me to the point where it wasn't pleasent. I didn't want to persue music as a career. I just wanted to do it for recreation. So I eventually gave it up as not to waste my fathers time and money. But I still have a toot from time to time. I played for about 3 years, and was getting pretty good, but I enjoyed it little. Never really got to play the music I wanted to play.

Well, I play flute, saxophone and clarinet as my main instruments. I can pick out some chords on my guitar and play the piano a little. And my ukulele playing started the other day in the music store...

Its good but thats a bit too much inuendo for a kids poem :-P

recorders are aslo pretty cool in that, unlike most wind instruments, you can actually slide a note up or down by sliding your finger over or off a hole.

It's fun to hear about everyone being involved with music! I also can whistle a strange way I discovered which is really loud, but still very musical. You can form a diamond shaped hole with both index fingers and both thumbs and blow through. You have to cut your fingernails short to do it well, at least I do. At first I learned this forming a triangular hole with one thumb and two index fingers and blowing through, but the sound isn't quite as nice a timbre. It took a lot of practice to perfect...

At a lumberyard, wood (bois) is turned into boards (planks), and they may be marked with crayons, which rhymes with three (trois), five (cinq), fifteen (quinze).
I can't forget this one, so it works for me! Everyone is different.

"bois" = "trois" That works
"planks" = "cinq" I'm not sure. I think "planks" is pronounced differently to the way your thinking.
"crayons" = "quinze" Difinetly doesn't rhyme.

Or maybe it's my English, that might sound different too.
When I say crayons, it rhymes with pans and cans.
There are three ways to pronounce crayons according to my dictionary.
