LaTeX!
I wish the forum would use it so it would be easier to write equations. If the forum already uses it please tell me how to do it!

You enclose latex in [ math ] latex goes here [ /math ] (sans spaces) tags.

But it is often easier to use normal typing combined with things like "sup":
y = x[sup]3[/sup]
