Riddle help!

I am really stuck- how do I solve this riddle problem?

if it was two hours later it would be half as long until midnight as it would be if it were an hour later?

Please can anyone help me?

If you go to the 'Maths is fun' website, click on 'puzzle' then 'logic' then 'Apples and Friends Puzzle'. Well I have got another solution or an better solution. Here it is:

You give each of ur 10 friends 1 apple each of ur friend.
But when you look at ur basket you see their is one more!! That is because you r standing under a apple tree so when u where handing out an Apple one apple fell out of the tree!! So that is how you have one apple left.
