Start right now and make it good.
In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
Always satisfy the Prime Directive of getting the right answer above all else.

I've an ammendment:
Change the flood limits such that:
1. An user cannot post more than once in less than 30 seconds anywhere.
2. An user cannot post more than once in less than 75 seconds in the same thread.
3. An user cannot post in thread unless it is the first post of the thread or the post immediately before is done by an user other than him.

'And fun? If maths is fun, then getting a tooth extraction is fun. A viral infection is fun. Rabies shots are fun.'
'God exists because Mathematics is consistent, and the devil exists because we cannot prove it'
I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

I would tend to think that might be difficult to implement.

Why?

Can you get that to work on your forum?

Why would I? It is a spam discussion forum!

Hhahahhahhahha, spam and GIB, what a mixture.

Great idea! But then no one could bump or get others to see their edited post.

Bumping is against the rules in almost all forums.

I don't know one such forum that bans bumping.

SE, AOPS, SO... Never see it happen there.

How do you bump on SE or SO?
AoPS is just a stupid forum.
All other forums I am on allow bumping once per day.

Posting to yourself or double posting is not allowed there. Nor was it allowed on Mathiverse or Mathhelpforum.

He can sneak bump.

Sneak bump? What is that?

They can delete their old post and repost.

That is actually unethical behavior.

But if Agnishom's suggestion number 3 was enforced, if someone had seen someone's post and then they edit it, they wouldn't see it again.

Enforced? That would be my responsibility. What should I do? Bar?

Maybe there is some software for that.
A workaround could be edit notifications, so edited posts count at New posts.

It would have to be written by MIF and luckily he is not too strict about rules. I am, but have agreed to follow his lead, after all it is his forum.

I think the forum is fine as it is though. Not too many people double/triple post, so it is not a big issue.

I agree, it is better to leave it alone. I have lots of suggestions too but have to realize that the motto, "If it aint broke don't fix it," is a good one.
