I do not think there is any way by which I can determine they are right or wrong.
Chooipian was wondering if a person in modern India is happy that they are not in british India. The answer is no, because of the above principle

People are generally an ungrateful lot. They never appreciate what they have anyway. The more they have the less they appreciate it. No group has ever been happy but today's people have more so they are less happy.
