Brain Speed

This is a test which claims to measure your brain speed: http://www.positscience.com/programs/brainspeed.php

To me it is more a test of one's ability to detect sounds, but anyway, the first part of the test is a tutorial to get you used to listening to the sounds, the next part is the real test. Took me about 5 minutes to do it.

Re: Brain Speed

This is interesting. I think (hope!!) I'm about half way through. The noises sound like when you open and lock your car. I've accidentally bumped my mouse into clicking the wrong arrows, even though I really wanted to choose the other!

If anyone else has done it, what time did you get?

Re: Brain Speed

Odd. When I tried this about a week ago, it said I needed to install something. I did, but it still didn't work. But now I've tried it again and it works fine.

...Anyway, I got a processing speed of 25 milliseconds, which is well within the top 10% of people in my age group, or any age group, even. So, go me. cool

Has anyone else done this?

Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.

Re: Brain Speed

It kindly informed me that I was using a Mac and where I could stick it. Ok, they were nice about it and all, but seriously, this is one of my pet peeves. The web is as cross-platform as it gets, people. ActiveX isn't worth it.

Re: Brain Speed

I tend to agree. I use flash and javascript for my applications because they seem to be pretty universal (I believe Flash 6 or higher is on something like 98% of  machines now). But maybe they couldn't get the special sounds to work quite right in Flash. I wouldn't know why, though.
