I've enjoyed trying to nut out a strategy that would work for me and ended up with one that I was pretty happy with.
I probably can't improve much on my score because of the sheer amount of time taken up by all the data entry and weights placement.
But a 7-year-old adroit cursor manoeuvrer with handy comptometrist skills would probably kill my score...once they learn to count.

I just wrote the whole thingie up in M and had him do the calculating for me. The problem was moving the weights. Anyways the reputation of the forum has been met, the OP's score was beaten.

I emailed them with that suggestion about multiple weights but they did not like it.
Pity. I hope they get a flood of complaints from people who develop RSI from moving all those weights.
I place weights that make up half the total weight onto the lhs scale, and am then left with the task of placing all the rest onto the rhs scale. A one-grab action for that second lot would have saved a lot of time and might have encouraged me to play the game again had that repetitive weight-placement activity not been so jolly time-consuming.

I agree, a more efficient scheme would cut time off the solution. 30 minutes is way too long for the game.

Maybe, but my first score of 29:32 was just with a calculator, and there are umpteen sharper bodies and minds out there than mine that would bury my score.
My second score was with M's help. I'd hoped it would be better, so maybe I'll try again - once my body recovers sufficiently after moving all those weights...one by one.
