Nerd Search

I don't know how many of you read Foxtrot, but I just came across this little puzzle. I haven't actually tried to solve it yet.

Jason's Nerd Search

It's a numerical word search...

Yes!

You could have separate nerdsearches using different types of clues to figure out the numbers - starting easy (subtraction, multiplication), and then getting harder (trigonometry, factorising/expanding, surds etc etc.)

Good one, ryos!

Re: Nerd Search

Just solved it. I'm now (as though it wasn't obvious enough already) officially a Nerd.

Re: Nerd Search

This could be published in books - Nowadays they don't publish as many math puzzles in books as t hey used to! With the exception os Sudoku, of course.

Anyway, I can imagine it...Issue 17, NerdSearch. A nice image and a catchy slogan (optional) on the front and I think it would sell! Maybe MathsIsFun could publish a book with NerdSearch puzzles in it, and possibly some variations?

It's all a dream, but it does seem possible.
