A guy from my class showed me a puzzle during physics, and wanted me to solve it. It went like this: Move one line, and make a valid mathematical expression. And then he drew something like this.
\/ || = |
(7 = 1 using roman(?) numbers)
The way he had learned it, was to move one of the single lines at the left side, and place it horizontally, and creating something that looked like
But instead I moved the same line, and created
\/ | ≠ |
(6 isn't equal to 1)
Of course he rushed in and said I was wrong, because he was expecting something else. The look on his face, when he realized what I had written, will stay in my head forever
(I think I should mention that this is a guy who can't take loosing, being outdone, tricked, etc. )

hehe, wise guy huh?

Ha, well done!
I was driving with a "know-it-all" friend, and it was raining. My friend said "when is this road most slippery?" (he thought I didn't know that it is most slippery in the first half hour of rain). So I looked at him and said "when it is first being built and it is all mud". He couldn't figure how to make himself look good after that!

You should have been looking at the road.
[And I should have been looking at my post >_<]
If you want to make your know-it-all friend look even worse, you could also have done it this way:
\/ | ≤ |
The ≤ would look a bit different, because the lower two lines would be horizontal, but it would still be valid. I think.
Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.

Or possibly ≥
You should have been looking at the road
Did I neglect to mention the tree I skidded into?

only thing is, you're only allowed to move 1 line ;]

Hehe.
you tricked him when he wanted to trick you!
I like doing that to people.
