Did you find the palette?

Get the roots of this quadratic x^2 + x - 6 = 0.

A quadratic equation is in two variables. y = x^2 + x - 6

Hi chris;

Do you know about the Solve command?

'And fun? If maths is fun, then getting a tooth extraction is fun. A viral infection is fun. Rabies shots are fun.'
'God exists because Mathematics is consistent, and the devil exists because we cannot prove it'
I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

Re: Teach David

You can use the solve command to solve equations.

Solve[7x + 7 == 70, x]

The first part inside the bracket is the equation, then the second part is a variable for which you want to solve.

Re: Teach David

You can graph it easily:

Plot[3x - 9,{x,-10,10}]

What does this part means? {x,-10,10} x-min and x-max?

How would you graph Shivam's example?

See you later, have a chore. Take a look around in the help in the meantime.
