Repeatedly getting locked out of the forum

I tried to post a few links in my thread in the Maths Resources forum, and I got an error 404 message, saying that I didn't have permission to access /post.php on this server. I tried a couple more times and now, for some reason, I can't connect to the forum at all. The same thing happened before too, where I was locked out for about 24 hours.

I'm accessing the forum via a proxy at the moment -- it's the only way I can gain access. Can this be fixed?

bobbym made this post which I found after searching the forum for the word "locked":

This is a problem that up to now has only affected Agnishom and I. The server does not like some word combination that you have in your post. This is localized to a single thread usually. Do not try to force the post to pass, the server will then bar you. Rather, change the wording of the post until the error disappears.

I have entered the post for you.

In my case, I tried to figure out what the word was, but the forum locked me out just for clicking on "Preview".

Hi;

Glad you made it back in. That advice I gave still holds and now we know another thing not to try.

Re: Repeatedly getting locked out of the forum

I am still not back in (I'm using a proxy), but I am trying to figure out which word(s) in my post caused that to happen.

How long does the ban typically last?

Some of those questions are answered in the other thread you posted.

Re: Repeatedly getting locked out of the forum

hi zetafunc,

I never did find out why my post was unacceptable.  But, more recently, I had a similar problem.  I had tried to make a post which had lots of url type links.  I couldn't get it accepted.  I tried with just one link and it worked.  I repeatedly added using edit until I had the original working, in full,  exactly as planned.

Re: Repeatedly getting locked out of the forum

Hi;

Without the option of experimenting we could only come up with one word that would trigger the server.

Re: Repeatedly getting locked out of the forum

The same thing happened to me -- I tried to post 5 links in one post and got locked out. Then, using a proxy, I tried making a post with just 2 of the URLs (they were both links to YouTube videos), and it worked like a charm. Unfortunately, it has been more than 24 hours, and I'm still locked out.

anonimnystefy said the word "poker" also had a similar effect.

Re: Repeatedly getting locked out of the forum

That is the word that usually does it.

You are probably locked out because your isp did not yet give you a new ip address. If you tell me what your ip address is I will send an email to MIF and he can remove the bar.

My IP is static -- are you able to see it?

Re: Repeatedly getting locked out of the forum

That ip is a proxy, I would need the real one.

Re: Repeatedly getting locked out of the forum

Would you be able to get it from my older posts that are at least 2 days old?

Re: Repeatedly getting locked out of the forum

If they did not change it, but what if they did.

If you go here they will tell you:

http://whatismyipaddress.com/

Make sure you are not using a proxy when you go.

Hi;

I have it, are you still locked out with that ip?
