Re: Has the Flood Limit been Disabled?

Everything seems okay now.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.

Re: Has the Flood Limit been Disabled?

That's good. The forum had been getting increasingly buggier over the past few days (mostly in terms of not being able to edit my posts without lots of delays). That issue seems to have cleared up.

Re: Has the Flood Limit been Disabled?

I have been noticing that too.

Re: Has the Flood Limit been Disabled?

Deleting posts still seems to take the server a while, though.

Re: Has the Flood Limit been Disabled?

That is an effect I have had for a long time.

Re: Has the Flood Limit been Disabled?

With the post itself vanishing, but it still showing up as the thing that was most recently posted?

Re: Has the Flood Limit been Disabled?

That is correct, sometimes I have to restart my browser.

Re: Has the Flood Limit been Disabled?

I'm a little cautious when re-submitting posts that don't go through -- the last time that happened the server booted me out for 5 days.

Re: Has the Flood Limit been Disabled?

The server was overwhelmed for about 5 hours, I don't know the cause. Looks all fine now.

Re: Has the Flood Limit been Disabled?

That's good to hear. Has the server been the victim of a DDoS attack in the past?

Re: Has the Flood Limit been Disabled?

I do not know. They do not make that type of information public.

Re: Has the Flood Limit been Disabled?

I think Amartyanil's post caused it

Why do you think that?

Re: Has the Flood Limit been Disabled?

Hard to say if that was the reason, although it did happen a few minutes after Amartyanil posted those threads. The forum had been having problems in the hours leading up to that point.

Re: Has the Flood Limit been Disabled?

I am getting the following message when trying to create a topic. If this applies to everybody it is a big problem. It is not forum-specific:

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /post.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Re: Has the Flood Limit been Disabled?

The same thing happened to me when I tried to make a post: see this thread. The consensus seems to be that you shouldn't try to send it repeatedly, otherwise you'll be locked out and will have to use a proxy to access the forum.

Re: Has the Flood Limit been Disabled?

The word pokr. I see.
I think I might be locked out, but I can access the forum on my phone (on which I use a relatively unknown browser)

It's a funny bug, lol. It seems that casinno is not a favoured word either

Re: Has the Flood Limit been Disabled?

It is a problem with the server, not the forum.

As for your other question on gambling I would discuss it but using the phrases to explain the concepts would trigger the server into action.

Re: Has the Flood Limit been Disabled?

I do not think it is a serious handicap to communication, just as long as people are aware of it (:

I am technically still locked out, but I have unrestricted access simply by changing my network.

I have emailed MIF, he will clear it as soon as he gets it.

Re: Has the Flood Limit been Disabled?

Should be good now.

If we didn't have this there would be a stream of spam posts a mile long every day. Imagine we have a bouncer outside who sometimes won't let regulars in because they aren't dressed right.

(2) Did not know there was a bug that time... In terms of posting... sad
