How did you do the 1st one. It seems to be a great problem for me till now. I have not figured out the solution till now.
The first one would respond to EM very easily but there is an even easier way.
Supposing it looked like this...
the irrationals cancel out and 5 + 5 = 10. Do you see it now?

power is then the irrationals cancel out and we are left with 10. so we equate and get the result as so 2 is our answer. But see carefully not only 2 but another value can be our answer.Practice makes a man perfect.

Can not read that Latex. The two answers they want are 2 and -2. These are the solutions of x^2 - 3 = 1
