Free, free, free!

It's rather surprising what you can get off of the internet for free these days. Check out a place like moneysavingexpert.com, for instance, under their freebies board section in their chat forum. Basically, these people (along with many of those other people out there from other sites and places) scan the web and world day and night in search of freebies. It's more or less guranteed that you will find yourself something useful here. A lot of the stuff is bathing products, etc. But that doesn't mean that the value of these things isn't good. You can get two bottles of shampoo and conditioner for free, for instance - Just by filling out a few surveys. But these guys are professionals - They know what they're doing. They can tell what is spam and what is not.

I've been with MoneySavingExpert for a long time, and I never cease to be amazed by their freebies. You may even get yourself something good, or something worth £10 in the shops.

And then there's gumtree.com. Gumtree.com is another cool freebies site, except the quality of their stuff isn't as good. They deal in people getting rid of their old stuff, like wardrobes, kingsize beds, computers, etc. Very useful indeed - But you have to come and collect it from the person who is offering it - And it is basically first come first serve. It applies to t he UK only, though.

And finally, there's paid surveys. You can make a fortune from these things. From YouGov to Ipsos, from Valued Opinions to HOR, you'll almost always get some money when you need it.

I'd say YouGov is the best, though. If you can qualify for enough surveys, then you can earn yourself an easy £50. It takes about a year to get to that amount, though, so start your surveys!

Valued Opinions is good, too. You can earn £5 at a time in vouchers (of your choice, and there are a nice, wide variety of choices you can choose from). Plus, you get their surveys regularly.

The amount of things you can get free on the internet never ceases to amaze me. What about you?

Re: Free, free, free!

Funny, I signed up for a survey yesterday which pays you an amount of money depending on how much time it takes you to finish it. They send them to your e-mail, and you can decide how often you want to participate (they can send you up to 6 surveys a month). They also have an option where you can decide to send the money you earn to a charity if you'd like, all made very easy, you even get your own cpanel to check your status. This one was Swedish only.

I came across a site last year that collected links to various free stuff you could get. Unfortunately, I forgot it's name, maybe I should try find it again. I came across the link collection from a site for students, there were loads of these free offers everywhere. Before I found the site, I had a hard time to believe that people would willingly give away stuff like this for free.
I think one company were launching a new product, and before the actual release, they wanted people to try it out, by literally giving a limited amount of them away. You'd have to be fast before they run out! Another gave away free candy, but I was too late for that one, doh =p

If you have some spare time every now and then, it's worth taking a look, and perhaps try it out.

Bang postponed. Not big enough. Reboot.

Re: Free, free, free!

People judge things a little too harshly these days - Recommend something to your friend, and they instantly think that it's not worth looking at...

But yeah, it's amazing what people give away. I got a recycle bin in the post. A free recycle bin. How likely would you get one of those just for filling out a form? smile

Re: Free, free, free!

A recycle bin for nothing is a good deal!
I have always thinking that there's something wrong in the free products, but what wrong there can be in a becycle bin!
Interesting...

Re: Free, free, free!

Although I have noticed that the best things take the longest to wait. Patience is the key...you will get things if you wait. Wait a second, that's not a saying. sad

http://jellybelly-uk.com

Go on there in the morning (as early as you can manage) and order yourself a packet of a dozen(ish) jelly beans. Be quick though, only 100 orders per day, and the first 100 get their jelly beans! But it's open every day - So if someone beats you to it, you can try again the next day. Earlier. smile

Only available to the UK, though.

Re: Free, free, free!

I think you can order them from Cybercandy, but they're not free... sad

I checked what countries they do, and they only do:

UK
China
France
Germany
Japan
Mexico
Spain
USA

I really think they should have a jellybelly worldwide... :\

You probably recognise a lot of those actors or TV shows. Well, there's only one thing you have to do. Send an email to one of those emails, and just put your name and address in. As for the title, put the actors' name and state that you're requesting a signed photo of them.

Now, SFM (Studio Fan Mail) don't pass this information on to anybody. Don't bother putting a message in for the actors, they won't even see it, and, what's more, they won't even know that you're sending them a message. For instance, an email I might send is:

REQUEST FOR 'so and so' SIGNED PHOTO FROM STUDIO FAN MAIL

Name: [your name here]

Address: [your address here]

Request: [your request here]

When you have filled this out, in about 12 weeks, a signed photo will have come with a photocopied-on autograph. It's an exact copy, so you needn't worry about quality. So far I only have one, and that is of Matthew Fox. I'll give you the details of what the photo is like:

17.5 x 12.5cm photo paper
A glossy finish
Clear printing
Excellent quality photocopy of signature

I think it's worth a try, definitely. I'm going to go on Ebay to sell some of these, now. big_smile

I... never knew that internet giveaway hunters existed as early as 2006... I thought that was a recent thing...
