Hi everyone. My name is Eric, and I am interested in math just for fun. I have gotten as far as completing college algebra, and enjoy geometry and trigonometry immensely. I am currently study calculus on my own, but figured I would come here for help when the occasion arises.

What is your favorite color, Eric?
Do they have good seafood in Maine?

Hi, thanks for the warm welcome. Favorite color is blue. Maine has excellent seafood, including world famous lobsters.

Hmmm. How is Maine's weather, anyways? Live in Portland?

The Maine weather was nice until a few days ago. Nothing but overcast skies and t-storms lately.

How does the state look like? When I drive through Virginia, there are countless acres and acres of farmland and run-down houses.. coupled with some seafood place(frankly, I am no fan of seafood, but whatever...) how about you?

I'm not much into seafood, but we are certainly known for it. I like crabcakes and fried clams, not much else in that category.
Maine is mostly rural, like the western part of Virginia. Maine is like Nova Scotia, it has a beautiful, rugged coastline.
Tidbit: Maine has 3,500 miles of coastline. If it were all stretched out, it would easily cross the U.S.

To be honest, I was thinking about the Eastern shore of VA/MD. Rural and farmland galore; marinas around us, and the rural food shack/seafood place sprinkled across the place. Just went to Kent Island( and over one of the largest bridges in North America) and it certainly smells like it.(I'll try to add a photo soon..) Not as rocky though, I'll give ya that.
Also, there was some rather fine swamp grass that looked smooth from a distance, but rather thorny upon further inspection(ouch!) Such are looks..
Oh - and that coastline reminds me of the paradox related to it. There's a rather interesting fractalness associated with it.

I just meant Maine is rural like the western part of Virginia, combined with a unique rocky shoreline. Very, rocky. You can cut your feet easily without shoes if you're not careful. Jagged slate, rugged granite, etc. Googling Acadia National Park will show you how it looks. It is very active with tourists most summers, except this summer because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Hmmm, yea, I agree. Just saying there are some aspects of that there... on another question, what math are you currently studying right now? I'm looking at reviewing calc and multivar..

I only study math purely for fun. I succesfully completed college algebra with an A. And so now I just study whatever I feel like, which is usually precalculus, calculus and trigonometry. I have been learning those last three on my own for fun
