Re: function machine

In mathematics, a quadratic equation is a polynomial equation of the second degree. The general form is where

The letters a, b, and c are called coefficients: the quadratic coefficient a is the coefficient of x2, the linear coefficient b is the coefficient of x, and c is the constant coefficient, also called the free term.

Quadratic equations are called quadratic because quadratus is Latin for "square"; in the leading term the variable is squared.

[Edit: too long (!!!), and it's all on Wikipedia anyway. ~justlooking]

as you all know i have no idea what  ≠ is and no ida what tons of the other sutff means. i have copied and pasted it so everyone doesnt have to go offline to read it and tell me what those complicated words mean smile

Patrick, Espeon may not have covered Graphs and Equations yet - I first covered it during the third term.

Re: function machine

lol we are on function machines and algrebra now but we havent covered that yet. im trying to remember what the equation for the x and y axis was. it was i think x=y on the x axis and the other way round for the y. i completely forgot lol

Re: function machine

Could you be thinking of the equation of a straight line?

I think that's the notation in England atleast. If you're not from England, it might look different.

Devanté - That's why I said

Yup, as far as I'm aware you probably havn't covered this topic yet, though

But to be honest, I have a very limited knowledge of school systems in other countries.

Re: function machine

It's kind of the other way around.

Nostalgia is you remembering stuff that happened ages ago and getting a warm fuzzy feeling about all of your happy memories.

Deja vú is you seeing something happening in exactly the same way to the way that you saw it happening before some time ago, which is unsettling because in this world of chaos and unpredictability that doesn't happen very often. Obviously, watching videos and stuff that will obviously always be the same doesn't count.

Re: function machine

if im not mistaken you get a deja vu because your eyes accidently sends two signals to the brain so when the second signal reaches the brain you think you have seen it before...or something like that
