Umm, is this turning into some kind of a bar fight rather than an attempt to prove that 1/3 = 0.333?
And putting brackets around a number does not make it any different than the same number not in brackets.
(1/3x0.333...) = 1/3x0.333...

To luca-deltodesco ? " and the fools that follow him? it ?
A = (1/3 x 3) =
B = 1/3 x 3 =
Give both Values for A & B
Can you also use proper quotes? You're putting both your speech and someone else's speech in quotation marks, which is very confusing.
Use the {quote}Your text here{/quote} tag and replace { and } with [ and ] to create a quote. Or alternatively, press the quote button underneath a member's message.

Not many stupids pique my interest as much as you do, but I'll just go right ahead with one of my more intimate authorblues' quotes
YOU ARE A *#!&# IDIOT!
You are seriously attempting to tell me that there is a actual distinct difference between (1/3 * 3) and 1/3 * 3? You are seriously trying to say that!? What planet are you from!? Have fun working in McDonalds, you claxon.
Prey then tell me, what is the difference between (1/3 * 3) and ((1/3 * 3))? If you're so adamant that parenthesis changes the outcome (which it doesn't you stupid child), then there must be a clear cut difference between those two expressions.

give me your address and I will meet you!
What ... ?
That does NOT sound like a good idea, and I think everyone knows it.

But seriously, guys. ARB has the belief that 0.333... is not the same as 1/3, and does not seem inclined to change his mind.
We know the beauty and simplicity of it, and that is enough. No need to get heated about it. Lets get back to the friendliness we are famous for!

OK Let's answer the Questions below!
A = (1/3 x 3) =
B = 1/3 x 3 =
A is not a Decimal Calculation! so A = 1
B = "wait for it!!
B = 1/3 x 3 = B
And also Wasp = 1/3 x 3 = Wasp
If I was able to ask "luca-deltodesco" this Question Verbally! I'm sure with the Small Brain he/it has! as proved by his "SWEARING SESSION" he would have got it Wrong!
The joke is always better when told Verbally!

seriously anthony, you need a lesson in basic mathematical concepts.

Hey, lets all make proofs with organisms!

JUST FOR THE FOOLS!..........................................................................................................
A = (1/3 x 3) = 1 "This is all part of the same Calculation! and so does = 1"
B = 1/3 = 0.333333....."This has now been Converted to Decimal! and lost its Accuracy!"
"i.e the Nearest Decimal to one 3rd can only be 0.3.. which is inaccurate! but important"
B x 3 = 0.9999...."This has now been Multiplied as Decimal! and has still lost its original Accuracy!"
"i.e the Nearest Decimal to one 1 can only be 0.9.. because of the Calculations that have been done! which is inaccurate! but important"
B has become Infinite 0.999...... "Because it is Inaccurate! but Nether less! and Most Important! permanently < 1
A - B must Equal 0.1 Because their Values have come from Different Calculation Accuracy's!

Ok, Anthony I really think you should go see a real life maths teacher or professor to explain this to you because it is really quite simple math.
If there are no brackets it doesn't lose any accuracy at all. I don't know where you got that assumption, but it simply isn't true. That's not what brackets do.
Brackets do not determine accuracy, they determine ORDER OF OPERATION.
Offline
Even though it is 'inaccurate' in your terms, that doesn't mean it isn't equal to 1.
And stop calling everyone a fool. It's insulting.
Offline
It can be a difficult concept if not approached from the right direction.
And as I said, ARB believes in what he says, so we should leave it be.

A = 1/3 "If this is a Normal Calculation! then this Equals One 3rd"
B = 1/3 "If this is a Decimal Calculation! then this Equals 0.3 i.e NOT QUITE One 3rd!!"
Offline
Anthony.R.Brown, let me ask you something...what is the difference between a×b and (a×b)? There is no difference. As Toast said, brackets are for order, not accuracy.

Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.
