I'd say that we were mammals and not animals, they're both very different.

Living things are divided into five common groups. I'll list some things below them.

Animals

Jellyfish
Cows
Tuna
Starfish
Crabs
Flies
Spiders
Snails
Frogs
Snakes
Robins
Worms

Plants

Pine
Ferns
Rose
Liverworts

Fungi

Mushrooms
Toadstools
Yeast

Monera

Blue-green algae
Bacteria

Protoctista

Paramecium Euglena

And then of course we can split up those into even more groups.

Well... mammals are animals, so I say we are animals.

The bible did make the point that we are not animals... however.

Science may say we are in the 'animal' group, but really, if you think about it, we are so different from everything else, we can reason, we are advanced, and we have rights...

But animals can reason. I have seen dogs making a decision which way to run around a house.
