as of the 18th of february my family(chinese) will be partying and I WILL GET TONS OF MONEY! BWAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH!

anyway how are you going to spend the 2 weeks of chinese new year

Toast, what you said is literally 'Good/Happy Chinese New Year' whereas what espeon said is the common new year greeting ... or something like that.
John, I can't say I know much about Chinese pop music, but http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_popular_music can probably tell you a little ... !

Actually we simply say "Xin Nian Hao!" Because when we were telling this last night(the eve), everybody knew it was referring to the Lunar New Year!

yes, exactly! It's very funny, though!
Lunar Calender(of China) is actually very interesting because it follows the cycle of the shape of the moon. Today is the first day of the lunar January, so the moon is almost gone. And 15 days later, the moon will be full and we celebrate this day by many fancy lanterns!
