I differ from you all.
I love cats, I think they are eminently lovable creatures.
I love dogs too, but I am too scared of them often.

The main reason that I don't like cats is that the one I had at a very young age gave me several injuries and made me endure a lot of pain. Once, it attacked my finger with it's nail, and, in sticking its nail into my finger, the cat pulled it out after waiting. And, well, the nail got stuck in my finger. Ouch.
It also scratched me in several other places...arms especially.
I got rid of it because I couldn't stand it. I don't miss the cat, but I do remember her.

Cats are lovable little fluffy things that are absolutely adorable, but only if they're not yours.
I think that if I actually owned a cat, then I'd despise them. But as I don't, and so I haven't experienced the frustration of trying to look after one, then I like them because my only knowledge of them is that they look cute.
I would link to MyCatHatesYou, but some of the comments there have inappropriate language.
If you're of a suitable age to be reading the occasional naughty word, and you won't be offended too much by them, then a Google search should find it fairly easily.

I like cats. But I don't own one. I like cats when other people have to clean up their mess and pick feline fur off their clothes. I think I would like a cat, but like mathsyperson, I think the novelty would wear off pretty quickly.
We have two Siamese-looking cats (brother and sister), a black cat and a tabby from around the neighbourhood that visit our garden everyday though. One's outside right now ...
mathsy, MyCatHatesYou = strange. But oddly, quite funny.

Mjeh. I prefer dogs. Although I've never had one. But they're harder to take care of, I guess...(?)

One time when I was a young boy my cat went insane and jumped on my head, tearing up my scalp for a good while. I still love cats though . Cats are so nice to have hang out with you when they just sit on your lap or bed and relax.
