Mathematics is both complex and simple. I would be lying to say that most of it is complex, and a liar if I said most of it is simple. But its complexity is the challenge. Simplicity of mathematics is practice and you still learn from it, though. But to say that you don't understand mathematics you would have to take into account the different factors of mathematics and compare them, which, of course, would take an extremely long time.
