thats a tough one, let me reach for my calculator...

Yep. The answer is syntax error

I've used three sheets of paper, and four hours, and I still don't have the answer.
I give up.

Perhaps if we used some Algebra on it
Start With: 1+1=x
Subtract x from both sides: 1+1-x=x-x
Subtract 1 from both sides: 1+1-x-1=x-x-1
Simplify: 1-x=-1
I think that is as far as I can simplify it.

Hm, a very hard problem.
Boy let me tell you what:
I bet you didn't know it, but I'm a fiddle player too.
And if you'd care to take a dare, I'll make a bet with you.

Is there even a solution?

i have the answer you idiots. she said at the start 1+1=?
a little bit of logic is all that is needed.
I come back stronger than a powered-up Pac-Man

Of COURSE, how silly of us ... it was a statement, not a question.

i get it so ?=2, but it wasn't even a question, OR WAS IT? *spooky music*

well my teacher told me that if u simplify it down to where both sides are the same number, then every solution works for that problem.
so maybe..
hmmm
i multiplied both sides by zero
and both sides were the same number.
so taht must mean taht 1+1 = the universe

I'll use the |img| command in place of the |url| command.
Geez, it's gone!! I guess I'm too late. :sad

what? doesn't one 1+1=2????????
How is that hard?

1+1=2...
That's a little too convenient, don't you think?

You're making erroneous assumptions by doing that. What we need from you is a rigorous proof that your hypothesis is correct.
Offline
proof 1 + 1 cannot be solved
let x = 1+1
then
this is a 5th degree polynomial and thus we cannot find its roots! qed.
A logarithm is just a misspelled algorithm.

Nvm I think I have a proof:
Assume: 1 + 1 = 2
Now add perform additive inverses on both sides:
1 + (-1) + 1 + (-1) = 2 + (-2)
Therefore, 0 + 0 = 0
So 0 = 0
So 1 + 1 = 2

And it's so true. I see Patrick Stewart all the time on the Television playing that Brain Training game.
That guy must be bored! Let's throw him a party! With strobe lights, streamers, and a budget DJ.
Make it so, Number One! (I mean you Identity, of course.)
